Sara Warber and the Mutual Reawakening Collaborative co-facilitated the “Thrive! Healthy People — Healthy Planet” exhibition for health center audiences. Breathtaking photography encourages reflection on nature relationships, interconnects human and planetary health, and invites action. Collaborative members Diana KB Hoover, MA, Elaine Simms, MA and Kate Irvine, PhD introduced “Thrive!” at two international conferences in April, 2024.

Hoover and Sims co-presented at the 2024 International Health Humanities Consortium Conference in Phoenix, Arizona. The presentation received an overwhelmingly positive response from attendees in medicine, humanities, fine arts, and social sciences. One audience member remarked on how beauty powerfully communicates the need for change.

Irvine presented “Thrive!” via an onsite digital poster and a video walk-through at the Planetary Health Summit and 6th Annual Meeting in Sunway City, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Attendees from about 50 countries, representing public health, nursing, medicine, education, business, environment, and activism eagerly selected postcards depicting the “Essentials for Health” from the exhibition. They visualized using “Thrive!” for education as well as displaying it in other venues beyond hospitals.

“Thrive!” is a value-adding exhibition that provides positive imagery drawing attention to the relationship of human health to planetary health and invites change that can result in healing for both.
