The Moores School of Music seeks candidates for a tenure-track position in Music Therapy at the Professor level, for appointment Fall 2023. The faculty member in this position will hold the Alice and Fletcher Pratt Endowed Professorship in Music Therapy as well as a joint appointment in the College of Medicine. Teaching and research responsibilities will be in the McGovern College of the Arts.

The core duties of the role will involve developing and building the new music therapy program in the Moores School of Music to national prominence, including by (a) developing and reviewing the music therapy curriculum, (b) teaching and coordinating music therapy courses, (c) developing practicum site relationships within the greater Houston area, (d) directing undergraduate research projects, and (e) actively pursuing scholarly research and publication in music therapy. Successful candidates will demonstrate expertise as a clinician, educator, and researcher and hold a fervent desire to develop clinician-researchers. The candidate must hold the appropriate AMTA faculty qualifications.

Qualifications: Applicants should have a terminal degree and show evidence of scholarly achievement and successful teaching experience. Requirements include AMTA Board Certification and a minimum of 5 years of clinical music therapy experience. Preference will be given to those with expertise in clinician-researcher development.
