Music Therapist – Arts-In-Health

Summary: 
Provides comprehensive clinical music therapy services, including assessment and treatment under the Scope of Practice of the Certification Board for Music Therapists (CBMT); works collaboratively with the clinical care team, and assists the Arts in Health Department as needed to develop and evaluate music therapy programs, initiatives and research. Patients may include neonates through the geriatric population. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in Music Therapy.
One year of experience as a MT-BC in a clinical setting.
Certified by the Certification Board for Music Therapists (CBMT).
Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and musical skills
Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Preferred:
Two years clinical experience as a MT-BC in a hospital/medical setting.

Physical Demands:
May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day.
Standing and walking at least 75% of the time; sitting less than 25% of the time.
Finger dexterity to operate office equipment required.
Hand and finger dexterity and reaching with arms and hands at least 75% of the time.
Pushing and pulling at least 75% of the time.
Lifting 5-25 pounds, carrying 5-10 pounds and pushing up to 75 pounds.
See in the normal visual range with or without correction.
Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications.
Ability to see computer monitor and departmental documents.
