I am a second year medical student at McMaster University, and am passionate about painting for wellness. During the pandemic, I created an interest group with my school called “McMaster HeART (health and art). I have hosted virtual art workshops for my classmates, as well as patients at the McMaster Children’s hospital, as a way for all of us to have a brief escape and appreciate the arts. People have found it incredibly relaxing, refreshing, and it has been a great way for us to bond virtually considering that we cannot see each other in person!

On my own, I have began utilizing the time between classes to paint in my favourite spots in Hamilton. I carry around a portable easel and have used this as an excuse to explore the Hamilton escarpment and find the beauty in every-day things.
