The Arts Program Specialist assists the Program Coordinator, Humanities in Medicine, with a wide variety of initiatives serving Mayo Clinic patients, staff, learners, and the community. Primary responsibility for this specialist is dedicated to the Loaned Artwork Program and Atrium Music Series. As such, the specialist will coordinate and oversee installation and return of art exhibits in 11 galleries and weekly concert performances, culminating in more than 50 exhibits and more than 100 concerts annually. Specialist maintains relationships with a roster of approximately 400 visual artists and musicians, and manages the application process for additional visual artists and musicians. Specialist will curate exhibitions, evaluate artwork condition, prepare accompanying materials for artwork display, manage loan and concert documentation, ensure an appropriate volume level is maintained during performances, track metrics for program evaluation, and cultivate relationships with the community. Specialist may also devise and facilitate artmaking projects for patients, visitors, staff, and learners.
