We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to work on an NIH funded project investigating the effects of dance frequency on cardiorespiratory fitness and cognition in individuals with perceived memory loss. Candidates should possess expertise in dance (preferably tango, African dance forms, ballet, and/or other styles of dance) coupled with neuroscience, behavioral psychology, or exercise physiology. The project is a collaboration that involves scientists and teaching artists with diverse expertise that prioritize excellent communication, strong organization, and creativity. The postdoc will entail dance intervention design and implementation, recruitment support, data analysis and project management skills. We seek a nimble and inspired individual who prioritizes the necessity in connecting dance and music for older adults as a tool for quality of life, cognition and independence.
The position is available for 1-3 years with possibilities for renewal. Interested candidates should send a cover letter (inclusive of dance background), CV and the names and contact information of three professional references to Christina Hugenschmidt at [email protected]. The start date for the position is flexible, but will be approximately January, 2023.
