Course Begins February 19th
Arts & Minds is pleased to announce Engaging Arts & Minds: Foundations, a training course on museum programming for people with dementia and their care partners. We invite teaching artists, museum professionals, caregivers and dementia care professionals to join this exciting new course.
Registration for the Winter 2025 cohort is now open. This asynchronous course will run from February 19th to May 4th. There will be 3 one hour optional live online sessions offered as a way to connect with other members of our learning community.
Engaging Arts & Minds: Foundations includes:
Introduction to Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias — a slide
talk by Columbia University Neurologist, James M. Noble MD;
Readings, exercises, and discussion posts focusing on the needs of
people living with dementia and their caregivers;
Explore Arts & Minds approach to in-the-moment conversations
about art (adaptable for science, history and living collections);
Learn our unique approach to creative and accessible art making;
Receive support in planning and implementing your cultural program;
Learn to build uplifting creative, social and cognitive experiences for
people with memory loss.
