The New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) is looking for an Arts in Healthcare Consultant to develop a single-day training for Artists in Residence who will provide Arts & Well-Being programming to patients at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center.
The consultant will develop a training program to prepare artists working in music, storytelling, and visual arts to facilitate arts programs in hospitals safely and effectively.

ARTS IN HEALTHCARE TRAINING SHOULD INCLUDE:
Providing safe and effective arts engagements and/or workshops for patients.
Responding to referrals, setting appropriate priorities regarding referrals for arts engagement at the bedside or waiting room areas.
Material use and safety in healthcare settings.
Best practices for working with medical and clinical staff.
Ethics, boundaries, and scope of practice for artists in healthcare settings.
Best practices for cultural competency, inclusion, and accessibility.

DELIVERABLES:
TRAINING MATERIALS:
All training compiled and annotated training materials including scripts, powerpoint decks, videos, and activities. The ownership of these materials will be transferred to NJPAC upon delivery.
TRAINING SESSIONS:
The consultant will have the right of first refusal to provide in-person or virtual training to incoming Artists in Residence at NJPAC for a period of two years.
