Nemours is seeking two Wellbeing Programs Interns (Part-time, 18 hours per week for 14 weeks), to assist our Nemours Estate team in Wilmington, Delaware.

Nemours Estate shares a campus and a history with the Nemours Children’s Hospital, Delaware. We work with patients, patient families, hospital staff, and with the public. The Wellbeing Programs Intern will work both on-site at Nemours Estate and in the Nemours Children’s Hospital to assist with programming for a variety of audiences. They will assist with an international research study and will contribute to the work of the Gardens & Grounds team in their efforts to emphasize the healing power of nature for all audiences. This position is well-suited for those interested in community health and horticulture.

Under the direction of the Learning & Wellbeing Programs Supervisor, the intern will participate in a variety of outdoor programming projects, mostly onsite at the 220-acre historic Nemours Estate. The intern should have a valid driver’s license and be comfortable operating a golf cart. Tasks include but are not limited to: helping to facilitate wellbeing programming once a week, helping to gather data for a research study once a week, assisting with the hospital’s community vegetable garden project, and assisting with other outdoor tasks as needed.
The Wellbeing Programs internship is well-suited for individuals who wish to gain valuable experience working with a wide variety of audiences. It is also ideal for those who enjoy interdisciplinary work, specifically regarding the intersections of health, horticulture, history, and the arts. A background in social sciences and/or art or horticultural therapy is a plus but is not required. Ideal candidates will have a completed bachelor’s degree or near completion, all may apply.

Job Requirements
• Must be available during the following times: Tuesdays from 9 AM to 3 PM, Wednesdays from 9 AM to 3 PM, and one additional weekday from 9 AM to 3 PM
• Must be able to work in an outdoor environment in seasonal weather conditions
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be comfortable operating a golf cart
• Must be able to pass a background check.
