The National Endowment of the Arts has awarded the Robert W. Woodruff Center High Museum of Art, Brenau University, and Performance Hypothesis an $80,000 grant for a research study which focuses on individual and public wellbeing. You want a sense of wellbeing, so you search for engaging experiences – – which you can get at an art museum. Once there, you internalize what you encounter, have an emotional reaction to it, and that stimulates various parts of your inner self. This study is tracking individual development across these five capacities: physical, emotional, intellectual, social and spiritual. Taken together, what is the impact? This study hopes to reveal that, and in a region of the country where this type of research is new.
